About Erika

My journey to counselling

I’ve spent many years working with people, a passion that eventually led me to become a counsellor. My personal experiences with loss and immigration — and the grief and isolation that came with that — deeply shaped my commitment to supporting others. I’m truly motivated to walk alongside you through your own challenges. I strive to offer you the same care and understanding that helped me find hope and the path to healing.

I completed my Bachelor of Counselling at BTI in 2021 and am a fully registered member of the NZCCA.

My counselling style

I believe a safe, strong connection is the heart of effective therapy.

I love finding creative ways to tailor our sessions to your specific needs, ensuring you feel truly heard, valued, and empowered to embrace your strengths.

I take a holistic approach that honours the "whole you"—including your physical, spiritual, social, and mental wellbeing. By exploring how these areas interconnect, we can work together to gain deeper self-insight and ensure you feel fully supported throughout our journey.

Values that guide my practice

I see myself as a collaborator rather than an expert, walking alongside you as you discover—or rediscover—your unique strengths, hopes, and values. My Christian faith deeply informs my belief that every person is inherently valuable and worthy of love and respect. While I am very happy to work from a biblical perspective, if that is your preference, my years of experience in diverse environments mean I am equally comfortable supporting clients from all cultural and spiritual backgrounds.

My approach is rooted in both professional skills training and my own lived experiences, providing a foundation of empathy, compassion, understanding, and holding hope for you and your future.
